Dragons clash a crucial one for Blacktown Workers

Fresh from an impressive win over Newtown, the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles head to Shellharbour on Saturday for their second consecutive away match.

Blacktown Workers play St George-Illawarra Dragons in another crucial Round 22 match with just five games remaining before the NSW Cup finals.

The Sea Eagles sit in sixth position on 24 points, equal with Penrith (fifth) and Souths (7th) with the top five teams contesting the finals.

Coach Greg Boulous, who has done a superb job in turning the Blacktown Workers around this season, will be looking for his team to further build on their fine effort in the 28-12 win over Newtown.

In front of a huge crowd at Henson Park, the Sea Eagles produced a solid first half to lead 14-6 at the break before finishing stronger to take the two points over the third placed Jets.

Manly props Ethan Bullemor and Toff Sipley both had strong games and were rewarded with selection in the NRL team to take on the Dragons at WIN Stadium following injuries to Taniela Paseka and Josh Aloiai.

Hooker Nathaniel Roche had a fine game too with 37 tackles while full-back Kaeo Weekes was a constant threat to the Jets, running 213 metres and finishing off a fine try on the back of a terrific offload by forward Ben Condon that put Sipley into a gap.

Blacktown Workers play three of the top five teams in their final three matches, making the game against the ninth-placed Dragons a vital one.

Kick-off at Ron Costello Oval is 3pm.
